One morning, a taxi arrives at Tiffany’s & Co. on Fifth Ave from which Holly Golightly (Audrey Hepburn) emerges in a black evening gown, having her coffee and croissant while fantasizing about a life that wasn’t hers. This nostalgic moment has now been created into The Blue Box Cafe, located on the 4th floor at Tiffany’s flagship store. The Cafe officially opened in November of 2017 and I could not have been happier. It’s a bit hard to get a reservation because seats book up very quickly but it opens 30 days in advance at 9am. You can also be added to a Notify list to be informed if a reservation becomes available.
To get to the cafe, you walk past displays of diamonds on the main floor to a concierge-attended elevator. Upon entering the 4th floor you’re greeted with a modern luxury experience. Walls are lined with the brand’s new line of tea cups and plates, fragrances and sunglasses to name a few. As you walk through the impressive display of items you get a sneak peak of the Tiffany Blue dining space. The iconic colour covers the chairs, walls, and also colour the salt and pepper shakers;
You’re essentially dining in a Tiffany box.
The menu is full of carefully selected items filled with bites of flavor so it was no surprise that it took me some time before I could finally settle. After much deliberation I decided on Tiffany Tea, which comprised of an assortment of sweets, finger sandwiches and tea of course. If you know me, you will know that I absolutely love scones and these were to die for.
This is definitely a great spot to have breakfast with your girls, a date or for some alone time.
