Pearls have dominated this season’s runway with Chanel, Gucci, Moschino and Miu Miu being showcased in a number of ways. From the runway to fast fashion zara sandals, jewelry  and jeans, this timeless symbol of elegance and femininity is everywhere. While trying to be on trend and still save some cash I decided to engage in a little DIY and create some pearly embellished jeans.

Here are the items you will need:

• Jeans
• Any size drilled Pearls
• Scissors
• Thread
• Needle
• Chalk/ tape

The process to embellish your jeans is pretty simple and also easy to remove when you’re over the pearly madness and ready to move onto the next cool denim trend.

Step 1.

Prepare your jeans by laying flat, then take your chalk or tear small pieces of tape to mark off the areas that you would like to place the pearls. Map it out until you’re satisfied.

Step 2.

There are two ways to apply your pearls and I used both. You can stitch them individually, which is the best way but takes a longer time. This allows you to secure each pearl and avoid it detaching in the washing machine or otherwise. The second option is stitching consecutively along one thread which will move things along much faster.
Begin pulling your thread up through your pearl and denim twice, then knotting and snipping the thread to finish.

After a few rounds of this your design should be finished 🙂 Voila!
